Organized Carnival Tour Dressed in their finest costumes, all Carnival groups are expected on the streets of the Capital in order to triumphantly welcome their sovereign. At the center of the show, appearing for the first time to everyone, the highly anticipated King of Carnival, His Majesty "Vaval", our ephemeral mascot. The parade for costumed groups seucceed and among revelers who flock to the forefront, some do not hesitate to show off or to throw themselves into the first "empty" space they see... This is without a doubt one of the most festive and popular Caribbean events of all time. Program: Saturday: Greetings at the Lamentin airport, in Martinique. Transfer from the airport to the Z'amandines lodges, at Sainte-Marie, on board our coach bus. Supper is included. Dimanche Gras (Fat Sunday): The official first day of Carnival features daytime parades with a wide range of costumed characters performing throughout the streets of Martinique's cities and towns. Makeup will be done depending on the theme of the day. There will be a departure for La Grande Parade de Fort-de-France. The night is reserved for dancing. Breakfast, lunch and supper are included. Lundi Gras (Fat Monday): Brings "Mock Weddings", burlesque parodies played out in the city streets with men dressed as pregnant brides or floozies, and woman serving as reluctant bridegrooms. Ceremonies are held will into the night, culminating in elaborate masquerade balls where drag is the preferred costume de nuit. This is a big moment of humour and derision to live with your family... The parade will be around this specific theme in Martinique. Makeup and costumes are made by our local guides, with your participation. The rest of the night is for dancing. Breakfast, lunch and supper are included.
Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday): Also known as "Red Devils Day", is all about the kids, with glorious processions featuring hundreds of children dressed in brilliant red costumes, carrying homemade tridents and wearing fright masks made of animal skins and horns. Red cloth jump suits are adorned with hundreds of glittering mirrors and small bells that jingle as the kids dance all the way to sundown. The elders carry on the party from there until the wee hours. The parade will be around this specific theme in Martinique. Makeup and costumes are made by our local guides, with your participation. The rest of the night is for dancing. Breakfast, lunch and supper are included. Ash Wednesday: The bonus "Day os the She-Devils" (La Fête des Diablesses) marks the climax of the celebration with more than 30, 000 "mourners" gathering to mark the end of the Carnival and the symbolic death of the King of Carnival, known as Vaval. The last day for the carnival parade is on "Ash Wednesday". Makeup and costumes are made by our local guides, qith your participation. The rest of the night is for dancing. Breakfast, lunch and supper are included.
Thursday: After four days of emotional release, we dedicate Thursday as a relaxing day. Enjoy the beautiful white sand beach on an islet off the town of Robert. Transportation by bus to the town of Robert, and then there is a transfer to the islet by boat. Breakfast and lunch are included. Friday: After breakfast, there is a departure from the Z'amandines lodges for a tour of the old economic and cultural capital of Martinique, in Saint-Pierre. Amongst other things, you can also visit the "Cyparis dungeon", the ancient theatres ruins, the Saint-Pierre cathedral, more ruins, etc. Breakfast, lunch and supper are included.
